What is The Freestyle Entrepreneur?
The Freestyle Entrepreneur (TFE) is a publication for people who want to work for themselves without building a company. We call it the one-person business: a freelancer, consultant, creator or indie maker who keeps the whole thing small enough to fit one life, and uses AI to do the work that used to need a team.
Our method is simple. We study real solo founders who built profitable businesses alone, break down how they did it, and show how to run the same play today with AI handling research, drafting, admin, support and follow-up. You stay in charge of the decisions and the relationships. The tools handle the volume.
A little history
TFE first went live in 2006 as a blog for small-business owners, “those of us crazy enough to work for ourselves,” and ran for several years with a loyal readership. After a period offline, the site was relaunched in 2026 under new ownership with a refreshed library: the topics readers valued, rewritten from scratch for how a one-person business works now.
Who writes TFE
Articles are published by the TFE Editor. When we describe what a founder did, it comes from public sources we cite. When we quote numbers on tax, benefits or law, they come from official sources and carry the date we checked them. Our tax, legal and financial content is general information, not professional advice.
